Exploring the Schladming-Dachstein region on two wheels, with the mountain scenery gliding past you as the wind blows through your hair, is a marvelous sensation. Whether you visit the most beautiful places in the region on routes at all elevations, or feel the pure adrenaline rush as you ride downhill on a trail, these are the ingredients for moments of true happiness!

The biking opportunities in Schladming-Dachstein speak for themselves: there are 26 signposted bike tours in the region, ranging from panoramic tours and laid-back routes through the forest to exciting excursions to alpine pastures, mountain tarns, or spectacular lookout points. For true cycling afficionados, you can look forward to kilometer-upon-kilometer of biking pleasure on the Enns Bike Path through the river valley.

The Enns Bike Path and the mountain bike trails in the region can easily be ridden with e-bikes or e-MTBs. The bikes can be rented from numerous sports shops in the region. There are also more than 20 charging stations at eateries and huts along the various routes.

The adrenaline rush of mountain biking is best found in the summer months on the famous ski mountains of our region: with Bikepark Schladming on the Planai and the Reiteralm Trails, adventurous mountain bikers encounter a variety of downhill courses and single tracks. Both areas are included in the perfectly fit-to-purpose Bike Ticket.

In Schladming, at the top station of the Planai 10-seater gondola, you have access to a diverse range of routes and a grand total of 40 kilometers of bike trails. Highlights in the Bikepark Schladming include the Flowline, the Uphill Flow Trail, and the Jumpline with 99 jumps. Real pros can also take on the World Cup Downhill.

On the Reiteralm, more than 17 kilometers of single tracks await. The trails are mostly easy to moderate in difficulty, but there are also attractive challenges for experienced riders, such as the black-rated “Gassl Trail". At junction points, you can switch between trails at any time according to your skills and what you are in the mood for.

But the biking offer in our region has even more in store: at the foot of the Riesneralm in Donnersbachwald, another attraction has been created for all fans of nerve-tingling action, in the form of the E-Enduro Bike Park.

However, the biking pleasures of the Planai, the Reiteralm, and the Riesneralm are not only reserved for experienced riders. The Reiteralm Junior Trails and the Bike Area on the Planai offer ideal practice zones for children and beginners, even with a “magic carpet” as an aid for getting back up the hill. On the Riesneralm, too, children as young as 5 years old can tackle their first E-Enduro trails. Necessary equipment can be rented on location practically everywhere.

For those of you who still can't decide between a hiking vacation or bike trip, with so many offers in Schladming-Dachstein to choose from, why not simply do both! 24 Bike & Hike stations combine the best of both worlds. So, as you can see, there truly is something here for everyone!

Trail Center Haus-Aich

New in Summer 2023

A brand-new highlight in summer 2023 will be the Trail Center Haus-Aich. Completely new bike trails are being created in the aptly named "Larch Forest" between Weissenbach and Aich. What makes them even more special: the trails were made using small machines in such a way that a very natural path was created around the trees in the larch forest. This is not only a particularly ecofriendly approach - it has also resulted in a wonderfully varied route.

On these new trails, every age group and every ability level will find their own ideal course. The easiest route is even doable without any prior mountain biking experience at all, and children with pushbikes are also welcome at the trail center. For teenagers, there are three different loops that promise exciting challenges. Another highlight that sets this new Trail Center apart: all trails were built in a sunny location on a natural gravel surface, ensuring that trail season in the Larch Forest lasts particularly long!
