Öblarn

Das Öblarner Festspiel „Die Hochzeit“ ist das größte Freilichttheater im Alpenraum und kommt nur alle 5 Jahre zur Aufführung. Als Naturkulisse des an volkskulturellen Werten einzigartigen Spieles dient der malerische Marktplatz von Öblarn, wo Kirche, Herrschaftsamt, Pfarrhof und Kirchenwirt eine Schauspielarena bilden, die keinerlei technischer Hilfsmittel mehr bedarf.

Im Mittelpunkt der Handlung steht die historische Begebenheit, als Erzherzog Johann am 29. Juli 1821 nach Öblarn kam, um an der „Hochzeit zu Gstatt“ als Brautführer teilzunehmen.
